Steps for becoming US CPA

ELIGIBILITY FOR US CPA -
In order to appear for the US, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination. The candidate has to be at least a Graduate, preferably from Commerce stream.
There are states who accept B. Corn graduates with CA from ICAI as well. However, the eligibility criteria varies from state to state, you may get in touch with us for further details.
Eligibility Criteria for exams
* CPA exams =120 Credits
* CPA License = 150 Credits
As a general rule each year of college education gives 30 credits, so a 3 year graduation gives 90 credits
However, there is an exception to this rule. graduation from a NAAC A university with first division gets a 4 year bachelor's degree with 120 credits.
The following combinations assure eligibility for CPA exams:-
• B.com + 1 year Diploma = 120 credits
• B.com + CA Inter / Icwa Inter/CS Executive = 120 credits
• B.com + M.com (2 year) = 150 credits
• B.com + MBA (2 year) = 150 credits
• B.com + CA/ Icwa / CS =150 credits
Please note any graduate (BBA/ BA/ BCA /B.Tech) can look forward for US-CPA qualification. Students who are not eligible to write their exam or needs to meet license criteria may go through a one year accounting diploma program from any recognised university which adds 30 credits to their graduation degree (90 Credits) and make them eligible.[Consult with VGLD team for bridge course]
